The Orthodox Church and Abortion

The Orthodox Church has had a long history of outspoken condemnation of abortion which dates back to Apostolic times.  In fact the humanity of the unborn child and its possession of a soul from the moment of conception has been almost universally understood in the Eastern Church from the earliest times and is firmly grounded in Scripture.

The Orthodox Church and Assisted Suicide/Euthanasia

The Orthodox Church condemns euthanasia, either "passive" or "active."  The Church remains a witness to historical Christianity's understanding of the sacredness of human life.

The above quotes are fromThe Orthodox Christians for Life ProLife Handbook Volume I: The Basics produced by Orthodox Christians for Life,  Another great on-line resource is the Orthodox Pro-Life Information Center found at

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.

Life is beauty, admire it.

Life is bliss, taste it.

Life is a dream, realize it.

Life is a challenge, meet it.

Life is a duty, complete it.

Life is a game, play it.

Life is costly, care for it.

Life is rich, keep it.

Life is a promise, fulfill it.

Life is sorrow, overcome it.

Life is a song, sing it.

Life is a struggle, accept it.

Life is a tragedy, brace it.

Life is an adventure, dare it.

Life is life, save it.

Life is luck, make it.

Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
